Exam Services

Washington County Library branches can offer a quiet space for students to take exams and tests. We can accommodate both online and printed exams with adequate notice.

Library staff cannot oversee:

  • Minnesota real estate or insurance exams, per exam requirements from the Minnesota Department of Commerce (Minnesota Statutes, section 45.305, Subd. 5).
  • Exams requiring continuous monitoring. We recommend that you confirm whether constant staff monitoring is required before you schedule an exam.

Scheduling Your Exam

  1. Complete the Exam Service Request form at least 48 hours before your testing time. Exams can only be scheduled during open hours for the library branch where you want to take your test.
  2. Library staff will email you within two business days to confirm your testing time and provide instructions or request a different testing time.

Taking Your Exam

When you arrive to take your exam, you must:

  • Present a valid driver’s license or photo ID to confirm your identity.
  • Pay all fees for printing your exam ($0.15 per page for black and white, $0.50 per page for color).

Testing accommodations are different at each branch. You are responsible for making sure the space and available technology meet your testing needs and requirements. If you require a quiet space or private room, make sure to note that on the Exam Services Request form.

Submitting Your Exam

When you complete your exam, library staff can:

  • Scan and email completed exams to your institution at no charge.
  • Mail printed exams using the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) if you or your institution provides a postage-paid envelope.

Library staff cannot:

  • Fax completed exams.
  • Keep copies of completed exams.
