All donations become property of Washington County. Once items are donated, library staff will determine how they can best be used. Items not added to the collection cannot be returned to donors.
Washington County Library accepts monetary donations and bequests to enhance our collections and services. Monetary donations can be made in person or by mail to any library branch. Contact your local branch with questions.
Monetary and material donations may be tax deductible. If you need a receipt for tax purposes, library staff can provide one.
Used library materials and donated items are sold at our library every day, rather than at specific times through annual book sale events. Materials are sold at the following rates:
Item | Cost |
---|---|
Hardcover books | $2 |
Paperback books | $1 |
Children’s materials | $.25 |
CDs and DVDs | $2 |
Proceeds from the book sales are used to support collections and programming across the library system. Book sale customers may not scan, sort, or pile merchandise in a way that impedes the movement of other patrons or causes a disturbance at the library.
If you have additional questions about donations or used book sales, contact any Washington County Library branch.
