Beginning Tuesday, May 26, Washington County Library will offer computers by appointment, in addition to curbside pickup, online library cards, and virtual programs.
With computers by appointment, visitors can schedule a time to come to any Washington County Library branch and use computers for up to one hour at a time.
Appointments are for computer use only. You will not be able to browse the library or check out materials in person.
How to Make an Appointment
Appointments must be set up in advance – call your local branch to arrange a time. Computer appointments can be scheduled during the following hours:
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday/Thursday from 12 to 7 p.m.
Computer appointments are available until one hour before closing.
Please DO NOT schedule an appointment if you have experienced any of these symptoms in the last 14 days that cannot be attributed to another health condition:
- Fever (100.4 F or higher), or feeling feverish
- Chills
- A new cough
- Shortness of breath
- A new sore throat
- New muscle aches
- New headache
- New loss of smell or taste
During Your Appointment
For the safety of other patrons and our staff, please wear a mask or cloth face covering to your appointment.
When you arrive at the library, our doors will be locked. A library staff member will greet you at the door and show you where you can use the computer. If there are other visitors waiting, please practice social distancing outside the building.
Library staff will not be able to offer direct assistance for using computers. If you have questions, library staff will be available via phone, chat, and screen sharing.

What safety precautions are you taking?
- A limited number of computers will be available to maintain social distancing between users.
- After each appointment, library staff will wipe down the computer area, including computers, the computer mouse, and keyboard, with disinfecting spray.
- Visitors should wash their hands before and after the appointment.
- We strongly encourage visitors to wear a mask while in the library.
- Staff will only provide computer assistance through online chat.
Can I check out materials during my computer appointment?
No, appointments are for computer use only. If you would like to check out materials, you can check them out using curbside pickup.
Can I print documents during my appointment?
Yes, printing services will be available. You can send documents to print from your computer. Library staff will print the documents and place them on a table for contactless pickup. Library staff cannot process payments or make change. There will be a box to place your payment, so please bring change with you. Black and white printing is $.15 per page. Color printing is $.50 per page. No cards will be accepted. We cannot offer copy or scanning services at this time.
Will you have flash drives available for sale?
No, please bring your own flash drive if you need to save documents. We will not have any items for sale.
Can I bring a second person to an appointment?
Yes, if you need assistance you can bring a second person to your appointment. Caregivers can also bring one child in for a single appointment.
Will library staff be able to assist me?
Library staff cannot go to your computer to help, but we can assist you via phone, chat, and screen sharing.
Can I stay longer than one hour to use the computer?
No, appointments are for one hour only.
