[ARCHIVED] Summer Community Book Scavenger Hunt

Image of book laying in a green plant

It's Summer at Your Library, and the fun has just begun! In July and August, Washington County Library will be hiding books each week for our next community book scavenger hunt. This time, you'll have a chance to find bundles of books with titles for the whole family! Each bundle will include books for kids, teens, and adults.

How it works:

Each week, a themed book bundle will be hidden somewhere in Washington County. All bundles will be hidden outdoors. You will not need to enter any buildings or businesses to find them.

  • On Tuesdays: We will share the first clue on social media and this page.
  • On Thursdays: We will share a second clue if the book hasn't been found.
  • If you find a book, let us know by tagging us on social media!

We'll add scavenger hunt information on this page, but be sure to follow us on social media to get clues and updates more quickly: Facebook | Instagram

They say that lakes were made by Babe the Blue,
Which may or may not actually be true!
If a cold drink is what you seek
on your way to a day at the beach,
look for a bovine of scarlet hue,
and a nearby feathered friend too!

Week Three: July 27 - August 2

First, dessert. That's the place to begin
To look for the books you hope to win.
Chocolate, vanilla, and confetti too!
Nothing but the best, dear Reader, for you.

Found! It was hidden outside Nothing Bundt Cakes in Woodbury.

Week Two: July 20-26

When seeking a book, visit this 21.6 acre green,
a space named for amusement, it's a place to be seen
When planning a visit you can bring a pet,
just be sure to avoid getting wet!

The book bundle has been found! It was hidden near the dock at Wildwood Park in Mahtomedi.

Way down yonder where the air is clean,
Sat five lovely books just waiting to be seen.
Head south and east, to a laborer's place,
Your eyes will feast when you're at the base.

The book bundle has been found! It was hidden at Carpenter Nature Center on the lookout to the east of the main building.
