[ARCHIVED] Popular checkouts, past and present

bookshelf

Because we're a bunch of book nerds, we love to pull together statistics about which books have been flying off the shelves lately.

For this post, we tallied up the most popular books in the first trimester of the year (January through April), then compared them to popular titles from that same period in 2017 and 2018. Turns out, there are just a few books -- mostly among the teen fiction -- that show up multiple times. Let's take a peek!

Adult Fiction

In adult fiction, there are a few different authors who appear among our popular titles over the last three years, but there aren't any specific books that repeat. If you like Minnesota authors like Brian Freeman and William Ken Krueger, you're in good company with other Washington County readers!

The Crooked Street by Brian Freeman

Deep Freeze by John Sandford

Manitou Canyon by William Kent Krueger

Adult Nonfiction

There aren't any repeated titles or authors among the most popular adult nonfiction of 2019, 2018, and 2017. This year's early picks include some of the most well-regarded memoirs of the previous year, a book that made major political headlines and... the encyclopedia. Curious!
