Get ready to start celebrating Summer at Your Library at Washington County Library with kick off celebrations at every library branch this Saturday, June 8. These events are open to all ages and don't require registration.
At the kick-off parties, you can see great performers, plan games, and pick up your game cards for our summer programs for kids, teens, and adults. Find out more about each celebration below, or click through to view them all in our online calendar.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Build and play with our Imagination Playground (think giant, soft, blue Legos) as we kick off Summer Adventure at Your Library at Valley Library.
10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Kick off your summer at Wildwood Library with Alan Johnson’s fast-paced variety show combining magic, balloons, comedy, one-of-a-kind juggling tricks! This is an all ages program. This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
12:30 to 2 p.m.
Let’s kick off the library’s Summer Adventure Program with games and activities, refreshments, a professional balloon artist, and more! Pick up your Summer Adventure Program materials (for children, teens, and adults) and have a blast completing the activities all summer long! All ages.
10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Join us at Hardwood Creek Library as we kick off Summer Adventure at Your Library! Family Storytime will start at 10:30 a.m., followed by special animal guests from Cock-A-Doodle Zoo from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., open to all ages. Kids can dig for dino bones from 2 to 3 p.m.! Start off summer with a fun-filled day at your library and find so much more to come! All ages welcome.
1 to 2 p.m.
Kick off Summer at Your Library with Cock-a-Doodle Zoo at Lake Elmo Library. This traveling wildlife petting zoo will include hands-on learning with animals like the kangaroo, porcupine, alligator, tortoise, cavy, lemur, skunk, paca, kinkajou, and others.
1 to 5 p.m.
Start your summer vacation by dropping by the R.H. Stafford Library Kid's Space anytime from 1 to 5 p.m. to create your own Flat Stanley! Take pictures of your Flat Self on all your summer adventures and vacations, and share them with the library. This program is appropriate for kids of all ages.
2 to 3 p.m.
Help us kick off summer learning here at Park Grove by joining Snake Discovery for a program focused on reptiles around the world. This program covers reptiles both large and small, common and rare! We travel around the world to meet reptiles from every continent they're found on. Audience members will learn what a Legless Lizard is and meet an endangered species of snake. You will even have the opportunity to watch a snake eat and see a variety of reptiles in person.
