As 2018 winds down, we're taking a peek back to see this year's most popular titles among Washington County Library users. We'll be sharing those books over the next several days, dividing the lists by adult fiction and nonfiction, kids and teens titles, and ebooks. 

Today we're looking at 2018's most popular adult fiction. It's a list dominated by thrillers and mysteries, with a breakout literary title in there for good measure. Here's the list:

  8. The Fallen by David Baldacci (476 checkouts)
  9. The Voice Inside by Brian Freeman (470 checkouts)
  10. Camino Island by John Grisham (468 checkouts)

If you've been following along on our monthly checkouts posts, seeing the list dominated by writers like John Sandford, John Grisham, and David Baladacci isn't really a surprise. 

If they're among your favorites and you're looking for something more to read, authors like Owen Laukkanen, Adrian McKinty, and Lisa Scottoline also write suspenseful, compelling procedurals that may be up your alley.
