[ARCHIVED] Our most popular picture books of the year (so far)

picture book month collage

For the last several years, book-loving people around the world have celebrated National Picture Book Month in November. And there's a lot to celebrate! According to one count, more than 233 million children's books (which includes both picture books and other kids titles) were sold in 2017.

Before the month closes out, we wanted to take a peek inside the numbers to see which picture books have been most popular at WashCoLib this year. Despite their popularity – every one of these books has been checked out more than 200 times – you can find copies of all of them in our catalog right now. Take a peek at the list, then go put one on hold to bring home a new author or old favorite.

  1. The Pigeon Needs a Bath! by Mo Willems (294 checkouts)
  2. Ten Pigs: An Epic Bath Adventure by Derek Anderson (273 checkouts)
  3. The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog! by Mo Willems (273 checkouts)
  4. Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin (242 checkouts)
