Learning should be fun, especially when it sparks the opportunity to get exciting hands-on experience. STEM Saturdays are designed to give kids the chance to explore natural, scientific, and digital worlds in the encouraging atmosphere of the library. These programs focus on science, technology, engineering and math, and are available at all Washington County Library locations.
The topic of each STEM Saturday varies by location and by month. You might crack into an old DVD player at a technology Take Apart Party at one library, shoulder a boa constrictor at another, or build a real bridge out of household kitchen supplies. This way, a young tech wiz or budding engineer gets to experience the principles and methods of STEM disciplines in an engaging, creative way that’s sure to make a lasting impression.
We offer more STEM-focused programs than just STEM Saturdays, too. Check our calendar for all the available events that relate to STEM for kids and teens.
STEM learning is one of Washington County Library’s strategic initiatives, designed to inspire curiosity, champion innovation, and spark opportunity.
