[ARCHIVED] Spotlight On...STEM

The answers to meaningful questions about the world around us can often be found using science, technology, engineering, or mathematics – simply known as STEM. Using methods from these disciplines, people of all ages can ask “why?” and work to find the answer. Washington County Library supports this inspired curiosity with tools, resources, and programs that make it exciting to apply science to everyday life.

Check out a power energy meter to gauge energy use in your home. Use your library card to unlock Lynda.com so you can find technical tutorials that accelerate your innovative ambitions. For students (or students at heart), the Science Reference Center offers science related information for projects, experiments, research, and homework.

If you have a young tech wiz or budding engineer in your family, STEM programs are offered at all Washington County Library locations.  These programs are designed to give kids the chance to explore natural, scientific, and digital worlds in the encouraging atmosphere of the library.

Even if you swore you’d “never use this stuff” when you were in school, check out STEM at Washington County Library. We promise we won’t tell your teacher.
