Join us from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 21, at Hardwood Creek Library for a solar eclipse viewing party! Join us for a celebration of one of the most remarkable astronomical events in decades--the 2017 solar eclipse! Watch NASA's live stream coverage of the total solar eclipse as it passes through select areas of the United States or experience the partial solar eclipse with other eclipse-watchers at the library in real time. During this national event, the shadow of the moon will sweep across the United States from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, causing some areas of the United States to go dark in the middle of the day. Minnesota, along with much of the United States, will only experience a partial eclipse, with the moon covering only part of the sun. Join us as we celebrate our very own partial eclipse in real-time as well as monitor live coverage of the total eclipse occurring in other parts of the nation via livestream. Space crafts, snacks, and a limited number of free safety-certified eclipse glasses will also be available!
