David Mura

David Mura is a memoirist, essayist, novelist, poet, critic, playwright, and performance artist. He will discuss his latest book,The Stories Whiteness Tells Itself: Racial Myths and Our American Narratives, a collection of essays contrasting historical and fictional narratives by white Americans and African Americans. A Sansei or third-generation Japanese American, Mura has also written two memoirs and four books of poetry.
Mona Susan Power

Mona Susan Power is the author of four fiction books, including The Grass Dancer, a national bestseller awarded a PEN/Hemingway Prize, and Sacred Wilderness, a novel that received the Electa Quinney Award. Her book A Council of Dolls won the Minnesota Book Award and High Plains Book Award and was longlisted for the National Book Award and the Carol Shields Prize. Mona is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe (Iháŋktȟuŋwaŋna Dakhóta), born and raised in Chicago. She now lives in Minnesota, working on other novels.
Angie Hong

Angie Hong lives in Stillwater and coordinates Minnesota's East Metro Water Resource Education Program, a local government partnership with 31 members in Washington, Ramsey, Chisago, and Isanti Counties. For nature-based adventures, environmental education, and conservation inspiration, check out her recently released book Exploring the St. Croix River Valley: Adventures on and Off the Water.
C.M. Alongi

Author and YouTuber Christina Marie Alongi earned a bachelor’s in history and social justice from Hamline University in 2017. Immediately after graduating, she worked as a community support staff for people with disabilities, including adults with autism, which helped inspire the main character for her debut sci-fi novel Citadel. In addition to writing, Alongi runs a YouTube channel where she discusses writing advice, tropes, and science fiction and fantasy through a feminist lens.
Brian Malloy

Brian Malloy is the author of several books, including After Francesco. His novels have been a 2002 New York Times New and Notable title, an Oprah Daily pick for best of 2022, a 2021 Women's National Book Association Great Group Reads selection, and a 2009 Book Sense Pick. Brian is a long-time advocate LGBTQ+ rights and services. He has also taught creative writing in various settings in Minnesota and the Twin Cities.
