Transition to OverDrive

In late January and early February, Washington County Library will be moving all digital materials – ebooks, eaudiobooks, and digital magazines – to a single collection accessible through OverDrive's Libby app.

When the migration is complete, you can access all of our digital content, plus content from all Twin Cities public libraries, through a single site:

Download the Libby app at the links below, then read on to learn how to access the full collection!

What does this mean for my holds in cloudLibrary?

Unfortunately, holds placed in cloudLibrary will not transition to OverDrive. You will lose your place on the holds lists and have to reserve them again. We’re sorry for this inconvenience. We know that changes like these are frustrating, but the move will ultimately give you access to a larger selection of digital materials.

No, you do not need to make a new account. You can sign into the Libby app or using your Washington County Library card and PIN.

What should I do next to keep reading?

  1. Make a list of the titles you have on hold or flagged in cloudLibrary (here's a helpful worksheet). When the migration is complete, all of these titles will be available in the new, shared collection.
  2. Download the Libby app to your device. If you use a Kindle Fire, download the OverDrive app.
  3. Follow the prompts to find the MELSA collection and sign in with your Washington County Library card number and PIN.
