Kick-off Summer at Your Library!

Stop by any Washington County Library branch on June 9 to kick-off this year’s kids Summer Adventure at Your Library. From Bruce the Bug Guy at Park Grove Library to “The Little Mermaid” with Schiffelly Puppets at R.H. Stafford Library, we’ll have exciting programs at every branch. You can also pick up your activity card and check out events planned throughout the summer. Find out what’s happening at every branch in our online calendar.

Babe 10,000 Experiences

10,000 Experiences for Adults

Kids don’t get to have all the fun at the library this summer. We’re bringing back 10,000 Experiences at Your Library, our popular adult summer reading program, for the second year. Pick up a game card at any Washington County Library location beginning June 9 and get started reading, listening, and exploring. And keep your eyes out for Babe, she’ll be traveling to libraries throughout Washington County all summer!

Tic Tac Teen

Teen-Scape, Teen Labs, and More!

Librarians at all of our branches have organized an exciting summer of teen programs, everything from spa days and video game tournaments to book clubs and art classes. For a chance to win prizes and complete book-ish challenges, check out our Tic Tac Teen summer program, beginning on June 9. Teens are also encouraged to pick up Teen Book Ballots titles, to prepare to vote on favorites during Teen Read Month in October. Check out all our teen programs in our calendar.

Spotlight On... Summer Learning

This month, we’re highlighting resources we have to help children and families stay curious and keep learning throughout the summer. We’ve added a new resource in our catalog – access to Lexile measures for many of our children’s materials. We’re also expanding our popular Dog Gone Reading program, which gives kids the chance to read with a certified therapy dog in a relaxed, confidence-boosting environment. Storybook Character Storytimes

Put on your favorite costumes and join familiar storybook characters at Princess Storytimes this month at Hardwood Creek Library on June 6 and Valley Library on June 26. If princesses aren’t your style, stop by Wildwood Library on June 23 for storytime with the Boy-Who-Won’t-Grow-Up and Green Pixie. After the stories conclude, the characters will be available to meet and greet guests and take pictures. Find more information in our calendar

History and E-Books and Beading, Oh My!
