Spring Has Sprung!

Now that we’ve moved on from April (snow) showers, it’s time to start thinking about May flowers! Create decorations for your outdoor space by making handmade garden pavers at Wildwood Library or suncatchers at Park Grove Library. Or, learn how to make your yard a better monarch butterfly habitat using milkweed and other pollinator plants in a workshop at Hardwood Creek Library.

Self-Published Author Contest

Minnesota libraries are looking for the state's best self-published books in adult fiction and young adult fiction through the Minnesota Author Project. The winners will receive a $1,000 cash prize, a write-up in the December print edition of Library Journal, and a chance to promote their work through Minnesota’s public libraries. Submissions will be accepted through June 30, 2018. Learn more…

Building for the Future

In May, we’ll be holding the third community engagement meetings for building projects at Park Grove and Wildwood libraries. At these meetings, the architects will be asking participants to dig deeper to share their ideas about the space and atmosphere of a new library. Brian Freeman at Lake Elmo Library

Minnesota author Brian Freeman will be at Lake Elmo Library on Tuesday, May 15. Freeman writes psychological thrillers that have been sold in 46 countries and published in 22 languages. His novel Spilled Blood won the award for Best Hardcover Novel in the annual Thriller Awards, and the novel The Burying Place was a finalist for the same award. This program is presented by the Friends of the Lake Elmo Library. Learn more...

Reminder! Library Closed for Memorial Day

All Washington County Library locations will be closed on Monday, May 28 in observance of Memorial Day. Even though our buildings are closed, you can still access your library account on our website, WashCoLib.org, and check out ebooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines through our digital branch.
