Great Books for Pride Month!

stack of books in all colors of the rainbow

Each June we celebrate Pride Month, an annual recognition of the creativity and contributions made by LGBTQ+ Americans. Pride Month is celebrated each June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, and has grown to include celebrations across the country – including here in the Twin Cities.

At Washington County Library, we affirm the lives, identities, contributions, struggles, and triumphs of our LGBTQ+ community, while also acknowledging that we still have work to do to make our libraries welcoming, inclusive, and equitable for all.

To help celebrate Pride Month, check out one (or more) of these great titles, or visit your local library to browse their Pride Month display:

Looking for more? Librarians from around the Twin Cities have put together additional reading lists for different gender identities, and we have digital lists for kids, teens, and adults available in our digital collection. Download the Libby app to get started
