It may not look like it to a casual observer, but the outside work at Wildwood Library is moving along quickly!
In the last month, contractors have finished most of the exterior brick, poured the interior concrete floor, completed the roof, and installed many of the window frames.
Brick is completed on the south and east sides of the building. To hold in heat and help the brick mortar set, a temporary closure has been placed around the building.

Drivers going by the site will probably notice some green materials on the exposed parts of the building. This is a waterproofing material that’s been applied to the walls. Eventually, those areas will be covered with metal panel siding.
On the inside of the building, the plumbing and electrical has been roughed-in for the floors. A vapor barrier has been installed and concrete floors are being poured in stages.

Moving forward, the contractors will focus on framing the interior rooms, finishing the window frames, and adding electrical, mechanical, and plumbing to the walls and ceilings. Looking ahead, the upcoming cold temperatures and snowy weather could present a challenge.
Watch Construction Online
Washington County has installed a camera at the Wildwood Library site to show construction progress. The camera will be in place until the library is complete in summer 2020.
