edit 20200111_112624

Washington County Library held a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, Jan. 11 to celebrate the newly-renovated Valley Library, which is located next door to its previous space in Lakeland Plaza. Partners and community members were invited to visit the library to enjoy activities, light refreshments, tours of the new space, and a ribbon cutting with Washington County Commissioners. More than 300 people attended the event.

“Valley Library is a place where people meet their friends and neighbors,” said Commissioner Gary Kriesel, District 3, during the ceremony. “This is one of the many ways we continue our mission of making Washington County a great place to live, work and play.”

The new Valley Library is approximately 1,800 square feet larger with two meeting rooms, movable furniture, technological upgrades, and a children’s area with tiered seating for programs and storytimes. The space also has two accessible bathrooms with diaper-changing stations and an expanded staff work area.

Valley Library’s regular hours will be:

Mondays: 1 – 6 p.m.

Tuesdays: 3 – 8 p.m.

Wednesdays: 1 – 6 p.m.

Thursdays: 1 – 6 p.m.

Fridays: Closed
