Now that demolition at Wildwood Library is complete, site work on the project is underway. Footings and utilities will be installed soon. Contractors have also started work on a storm sewer project with the City of Mahtomedi.
Once footings are completed, foundation walls will be poured and the area will be waterproofed. When the storm sewers are finished, the parking lot will be graded and the first layer of asphalt will be installed.
Mandy Leonard, Building Services Project Manager, shared this story from the site: “The children next door have been enjoying the daily show. Kraus Anderson brought them hard hats and construction vests. The heavy equipment operators invited the kids on site one afternoon to sit on the machines. Their mom said it was a huge thrill for them and she really appreciates how nice the contractors have been during the work. Her son has worn his new outfit every day.”
Watch Construction Online
Washington County has installed a camera at the Wildwood Library site to show construction progress. The camera will be in place until the library is complete in summer 2020.
