Renovation of a new home for Valley Library is set to begin on September 9 and should be finished by late-November.
In July, the Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a construction agreement with Kraus-Anderson to relocate and expand the library within Lakeland Plaza.
The new location will be directly adjacent to the library’s current location within the plaza. The county has a 10-year lease of the new space.
The new 4,300 square foot library will have two meeting rooms, movable furniture in the main space to accommodate large groups, and a children's area with tiered seating for programs and storytime.
Library staff are planning an open house celebrating the new library after construction concludes.
