College test prep can be stressful and, at times, costly. But never fear! Washington County Library offers several free tools to help students prepare for college admission tests like the PSAT, ACT, or SAT – everything from tutorials to timed practice tests that simulate the testing experience.
On the main page of LearningExpress Library, you can find links to several college admissions test prep services, including the ACT, SAT, PSAT and AP Exams, as well as tutorials on college admissions essay writing.
These resources include tutorials and eBooks on preparing for each test, plus practice tests in each section or the test as a whole. You can take each practice test simulating the real test environment, or ask to see the answer explanations as you complete each one.
From the main page of Homework HelpNow, click on SkillSurfer to find the College Entrance Test Prep section. In addition to the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and AP Exam prep, HelpNow also has resources for iBT, TOEIC, CLEP, and entrance exams for nursing school.
These resources can help walk through the different parts of each test, suggest test-taking strategies, review specific concepts for each test, and allow students to take practice tests that simulate the test-taking environment.
Under the CollegeNow tab, you can also find information about the college application process, including how to fill out applications and your next steps after an application is complete.
As with most digital library services, you’ll need sign in to both LearningExpress Library and Homework HelpNow with your library card number and set up an account to track and save your test progress.
If digital isn’t your style, we also have a big collection of print materials to guide you through the admissions process. Search for what you need in our catalog, browse the shelves at your local branch, or submit a question to a Washington County librarian to get some help.
