Washington County Library hosts Karin Slaughter

Karin Slaughter

Washington County Library will host author Karin Slaughter on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at R.H. Stafford Library, 8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury. This event is part of Club Book, a program of the Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA).

Chart-topping mystery phenom Karin Slaughter is the author behind nearly twenty thrillers to date. Collectively, her books have sold a staggering 35 million copies across more than 120 countries.

She is best known for the nine-book Grant County series, set in rural Georgia, which launched her writing career in 2001. It centers around small town pediatrician and part-time coroner Dr. Sara Linton and her husband, the local chief of police.

Slaughter also writes the so-called Atlanta series, which follows special agents at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Unsurprisingly, her two worlds have collided a number of times, beginning with the bestselling novel Undone (2009). Three of her standalone books - Cop Town (2014), The Good Daughter (2017), and Pieces of Her (2018) - are currently in development for film or television adaptations.

Made possible by Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund, Club Book has brought more than 100 bestselling and award-winning authors to libraries throughout the metropolitan region since its launch in 2010. Visit www.clubbook.org for more information.

All Club Book events are free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open 45 minutes in advance of each program and books will be available for sale/signing. For additional information about this and other library programs, call 651-731-1320, visit a Washington County library, or see www.washcolib.org.
